Can T-Shirt’s Make A Difference?
Serve the City recently explored this when we partnered with Kriibskrank Kanner for a T-Shirt workshop for children and their families. Sure, T-Shirts themselves won’t make a difference, but the simple act of being creative and helping children with a craft? Now that has the potential to impact a child in a positive way and quite possibly make a difference in their life.
A regular volunteer and STC team member describes her experiences from the day:
On June 27th, Een Haerz fir Kriibskrank Kanner had their T-shirt workshop. In order to celebrate both the opening of the new building and their 15th anniversary, every member (children, teenagers and parents) was given the possibility to create their own T-shirt. This could simply have been a great souvenir of an afternoon where parents and children design and are creative together, but it was also the opportunity to take part in a contest for the best T-shirt. The shirt in each category (parents, children and teenagers) voted as the best by the judges will then be produced in various sizes in collaboration with Fondation Kraizbierg, so that everyone can buy one. During this afternoon, people who attended the workshop were shown the different methods and techniques for designing T-shirts and were able to be very creative by using the wide variety of material. Everyone had fun and enjoyed this workshop!
