Celebrating Excellence: Abdul, STC’s Volunteer of the Year 2023
In a world where kindness often goes unnoticed, there are individuals like Abdul who illuminate the path with their selflessness and dedication. Hailing from Tartous, Syria, Abdul’s journey led him to Luxembourg in February 2022 as an asylum seeker, where he embarked on an extraordinary journey of service and impact.
Currently serving as a team leader and social media representative, Abdul exemplifies the core values of Serve The City with unwavering dedication. In 2023, he was involved on all fronts, whether in our various projects to protect the environment or to help people in need, both on the streets and in shelters, or in our awareness-raising initiatives with businesses and schools.
What sets Abdul apart is not just his proactive approach to community service, but also his infectious positivity and genuine warmth. He lives by the motto “Even a smile makes a difference,” embodying the belief that small acts of kindness can create ripple effects of compassion and change.
As Abdul is honoured as Serve The City’s Volunteer of the Year for 2023, we celebrate not only his remarkable contributions but also the resilience and spirit of generosity that define his journey. His story serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us that regardless of our circumstances, we all have the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
