Dear Volunteer,
You may be an active volunteer with Serve The City, a soon-to-be active volunteer or a support to the association. Whatever your status, if you’re reading this, it means you are aware of what we do and sensitive to the cause we serve; for that, I would like to thank you. Without our ever-growing base of volunteers, we would not be able to do anything to make the world and our country a better place.
As I am about to leave Luxembourg to pursue a new professional opportunity overseas, I would like to share with you my experience at Serve The City Luxembourg.
Our team is 100% volunteer-based, we give our time and energy to enable you to volunteer. And even if it can be hard, time-consuming or frustrating sometimes, getting involved in such a diverse and unique organization has given me a real sense of purpose. When, at the end of just one successful beauty afternoon for women living in a shelter, they thank me for enlightening their day, or after a movie night in a shelter, one resident comes and tells me how much they enjoyed the session, I feel like I have done something small but useful to support them in a simple way. That’s the spirit of Serve The City. Many people doing small things together makes a big difference.
The new Leadership team is motivated and dynamic, they will for sure come up with many new ideas and projects. Don’t be shy, join the new team or sign up for projects and I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
