Food Distribution: Nourishing Hope and Humanity in Luxembourg
At Serve the City Luxembourg, we have always been driven by a mission to support those in need. Since the new begging ban came into force late last year, we’ve intensified our efforts to assist the homeless community. As our director, Nicolas Duprey, points out, for many people living on the streets, begging is their only source of income. This ban has made it even more critical for us to step up and offer support.
Our Food Distribution project is a testament to the power of community and compassion. We mobilize volunteers and local companies to prepare lunch packs, which are then distributed to homeless individuals at each event. “This initiative not only provides food to the needy but also fosters connections and also give us the opportunity to raises awareness about the challenges faced by homeless people.”
One of the most heartwarming aspects of our Food Distribution is the stories of resilience and love that emerge. As Abdul, who is in charge of the distribution teams on the ground, explains, “Each distribution brings new faces and new friendships. Some individuals, have become close friends to our team. We also see couples living on the streets who always request extra food bags for their partners, a touching gesture of care amidst hardship.” – Abdulrahaman Asaad, Team leader
These stories reinforce our commitment to showing respect, love, and hope to those in need. Serve the City Luxembourg is dedicated to building connections and fostering a sense of community. Through our Food Distribution project, we strive to link the streets of Luxembourg with threads of compassion and empathy. Our goal is to create a healthy and prosperous city for everyone who calls it home. Together, we can make a difference, one meal at a time.
