New opportunity for our elderly volunteers!
PhD students at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg are interested in meeting elderly people who speak either French, German or Luxembourgish to have lunch together, share experience (generational exchange) and improve language skills all at the same time.
They have already a German language meeting on Wednesdays and a French language meeting on Thursdays lunchtime (12 – 2 p.m.) at the University premises in Kirchberg (right next to Auchan). They also would like to have a Luxembourgish meeting, but are still looking for at least one native speaker to help the group.
Interested volunteers could either join the existing group lunches or have one-to-one lunches with interested. The days are not fixed and can be adapted to when you are free, as long as it is during lunch hours and in Kirchberg.
If you are an elderly person and interested in joining this initiative or you know someone who could be interested, then we would love to hear from you. Please send an e-mail to Ricarda (ricarda (at) servethecity.lu). Please mention which languages you speak and if you are more interested in joining the group lunches or meeting on a one-to-one basis.
