Serve the City Street Team – Easter edition
Our Street Team went out again on march 29th and april 5th to meet the homeless and people in need on the streets of Luxembourg City, Gare and Bonnevoie area, chat with them and offer them sandwiches fruits and hot coffee.
This time however was a bit different. Dominique Lorentz (a regular STC volunteer), her teacher collegues Marcia Heinen and Anne Trauffler and the kids of the Millermoaler School in Echternach had prepared special Easter bags. They made cookies and painted easter eggs and put other small treats inside.
Handing out the food and drinks along with the bags was a great pleasure and was happily received by the homeless and people in need. It was nice to see the surprised faces and to explain them where the bags came from.
A big thank you to Dominique, her collegues Marcia Heinen and Anne Trauffler and all the children of Millermoaler School for their hard work and care!
Our Street Team will continue to serve the homeless and people in need every other week.
We work with our partner Stëmm vun der Strooss and go out every weekend that they are closed.
If you would like to join us, and particularly if you are able to communicate in Luxembourgish, German or French, please let us know. If it feels a little outside your comfort zone, know that you will always be with people who have been before – and read Miranda’s story of how she overcame her own nerves!
