Art Unites Us: STC’s Integration-through-Art Experience

 In #Art4All, STC Luxembourg

October 6th, 2024, Serve the City Luxembourg organized an unforgettable integration-through-art experience for children and families from the refugee shelter at MUDAM Luxembourg. This heartwarming event showcased the power of art in bridging cultural divides and fostering community.

According to Sonia, Serve the City Luxembourg’s President, “Art has a remarkable way of bringing people together, regardless of age or background.” This initiative aimed to provide a platform for refugee families to connect with art, culture, and each other.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome from MUDAM’s staff, particularly their guide Zinab, who led an engaging tour of the museum’s impressive collection. The children’s curiosity and creativity shone through as they asked thoughtful questions about the artwork and recreated masterpieces in a fun workshop. “This family excursion was more than just a museum visit – it was a chance to connect with art, culture, and each other,” Sonia emphasized. The event provided opportunities for socialization and community building, demonstrating the importance of cultural exchange and inclusivity.

A special mention goes to Erika, who played a pivotal role in bringing this project to life. “Initiatives like this, outside refugee shelters, play a crucial role in their integration”. Erika’s exceptional dedication exemplifies Serve the City Luxembourg’s commitment to building bridges between communities.

As Serve the City Luxembourg continues to promote community integration, this event serves as a testament to the organization’s mission. By leveraging art as a universal language, they aim to create a more inclusive and compassionate society. Through initiatives like integration-through-art, they strive to build bridges between communities and foster a culture of inclusivity.
