Familljefest with Fondation Autisme!

 In STC Luxembourg

Thank you so much to everyone who helped at the Fondation Autisme Familljefest on 17th May – it was a huge success!

One of our volunteers, Kim,  has written a short article about the day below. For more information about the charity visit www.fal.lu/en

The Familljefest in Niederfeelen, organised by Fondation Autisme Luxembourg gathered hundreds of people concerned or interested by autism. Dozens of volunteers from Serve the City have answered the call and given their time for a good cause.

Throughout the whole day, families and friends came to visit, drink beer and sodas, eat salads, lasagnas, fries, Grillwurst, popcorn and cakes of all sorts. Tombolas were organised and sales of art and other crafts done by people living in the several foyers of Munshausen.

The site at Niederfeelen is a center of extracurricular activities for autistic children and has been transformed to welcome all families and raise awareness on autism. We were visited by our friends from the association Tricentenaire (http://www.tricentenaire.lu/fr) who enjoyed with the others entertaining live music and tricks from a magician.

Children had their very own playground with several games, facepainting and a big bouncy castle which got an enormous success. Once again, volunteering with Serve the City, getting to know other people and sharing a meaningful event was a great experience.
